Is it ok to use plastic cups at the bar of a wedding?
I am getting married in a hall and need to bring in all the food, dishes, etc. We are having an open bar with about 200 guests. I would have to rent a lot of glasses to have enough to last the entire evening. We have water goblets and champagne glasses that we are renting for the tables.
I found some super cute translucent pink plastic cups (my colors are pink and black) and was wondering if it would be tacky to use the cups for the bar only? I’ve been to weddings with plastic cups at the bar and it never bothered me, but I’m curious what other people think.
Thanks for your input!
It’s totally fine!! People will just be happy that they have alcohol in those cups. And you even found cute pink ones!
Yes, someone out there might call it tacky. But even if you rented nice glasses, that same someone would surely complain that something else is tacky, whether it’s your centerpieces, BM dresses….whatever. You can’t worry about what others think.
Plastic glasses aren’t as environmentally friendly, but if it’s what works best for you, then I encourage you to do it and have a blast.
