1)Katy’s mom is putting a lace edge on a table cloth for a special picnic at the park. To the nearest tenth of an inch, how much lace will she need if the diameter of the round table cloth is 60 inches and pi=3.14?( make sure that you show all of your work)
2)A fence is being built around the edge of the park. The park is a rectangular shape with a width of 56 yards and a length of 145 yards.
1. What is the length of fence that needs to be ordered?
2. How many feet of fence is needed for the park perimeter in the previous question?
1.) The circumference of a circle is 2πr or dπ where r=radius and d=diameter
Then it is 60π or 60*3.14
The answer is then 18,84
2.)
1.The length of the fence would be the same as the perimeter of the park which is 402 yards
2. There are 3 feet in a yard so multiply the answer from above by 3 and you get 1206
