Does anyone outside Wellington or Taranaki support the Hurricanes anymore?
In the last ten years the hurricanes have turned their back on the traditions that made them the most supported team in the Super 14.
They haven’t played a game in Hawkes Bay for ten years and have now cut Manawatu out of the away games.
Now they bring in another outside coach when we are well served in the region with Peter Russell, Dave Rennie and Jamie Joesph on the way up plus a few others.
We used to go to two or three games a year but now we have no real connection with the Hurricanes and in fact the Highlanders played in Palmerston last year at great success.
Allot of people outside the franchise five are now more interested in the Air New Zealand Cup or have switched to follow another team.

Keep in mind when was the last time Wellington ahd 18,000 to a game. Napier and palmy have had better crowds at provincial level. Mangatainoka got 8,500 and the cake tins not getting much more.
Im from MT Maunganui & Ive supported the canes since Jonah played but I do understand where you are coming from, here in at the Mount and Rotorua we used to have alot of games, now there all in Hamilton. Their not appreciating grass roots support, even if they have one game in the smaller unions we will pack out the stadiums. Some of our greatest players have come from Manawatu/Hawks Bay, they owe it to the fans, and future stars.
Its all about $$$$, corporate boxes, sponsors, and season tickets,
Bring it back to the heartland!
