St. George`s, Hanover Square- Why Must Anglicans Beg??????
We live in an Anglican country or to be PC a country whose roots are Anglican but which is now multireligious.
Nonetheless, whilst other faiths bully and grab and aggrandise their places of worship, the Anglicans have been reduced to begging for funds to refurbish possibly the greatest churches in the world.
Why?
Why must St. George`s debase itself by selling off silver and gold memberships making it a tangible emblem of Judas?
Doesn`t some international company have £5 million to pay for the refurbishment of this national (and indeed world) treasure?
Anyone know that Teddy Roosevelt was married in this church???????????????????????
And why should we care so much about “any” building that we spend so much money to “fix it up” while people are starving and dying from sickness all over the world (even in our own counties)?
I am a Christian by the way and God lives in my heart not in some building somewhere.
And to worry so much about the past and who did what, when and where, just does not make since to me.
