Are there functional purposes behind the design of bar ware & stemware?
I know that champagne flutes are narrow in order to preserve the bubbles, brandy snifters help develop the aroma, and stemware is generally to keep body heat from warming up your drink. But I was wondering if there were more reasons behind the design of other drink ware, like martini glasses, etc.
i think the idea w/ a martini glass is the more you drink, the easier it spills. this has 2 reasons.
1. if you’re buying them at a bar, you’ll spend more money.
2. you won’t be quite as drunk later and this helps in case you have to be thrown out of the bar or the party, or if you’re at home, you wont puke on your own carpet.
