What kind of fish can I keep in a fish bowl?

I have already had beta fish but I’m tired of them. I had two and they both died at 3 months old. They both had ick! But I found out my problem, the water I use from my sink has chlorine in it! Duh! But I don’t want another Beta there so boring! My fish bowl is actually I giant squiggally vase like this one! http://images.replacements.com/images/images5/crystal/F/fostoria_navarre_clear_bud_vase_P0000026121S0126T2.jpg exept mine is clear. What can I have in there? If nessisary, I will buy and ordinary round fishbowl. Can I have snails or crabs? Or are betas the only fish that don’t need filters?
eh, I’m tired of fish! I have had fish since I was four. Now I’m hanging the question to wha kinds of animals can I keep in a fish bowl without a filter! Can I have frogs? Snails? Crayfish? Crabs?
