the late 90s/early 2000s generation is much better than this generation, Agree?
who would win a best of 7 series? I say team 1 by a longshot. All in their PRIMES
team 1:
Jason kidd
kobe bryant
shaq
Tim Duncan
Vince Carter
Bench:
Kevin Garnett
T-mac
chris webber
paul pierce
reggie miller
allan houston
allan Iverson
Ray Allen
Team 2:
Deron williams
dwyane wade
Dwight Howard
Chris bosh
Lebron James
Bench: Chris Paul, kevin durant, Carmelo Anthony, Brandon Roy, Amare Stoudemire, Danny Granger, David Lee
Hell no.
First off: Melo, LeBron, Stoudamire, Wade, Bosh are clearly a part of the 90s/early 2000s generation.
Second: Reggie Miller was not in the late 90s generation, and neither was Shaq. Miller played in the playoffs in 89-90 for Christ’s sake! Shaq was drafted in 92, and was a big name with the Magic before he joined Kobe. Also, neither was Kidd. He was drafted in 94. Kobe just barely makes the late 90s cut, since he was drafted in 96. Webber was 93 though. Even Garnett was 95, but again he’s close enough that I’ll give it to you. Also, Houston isn’t on there either; he was drafted in 93.
I understand your reasoning for putting everybody into the generations you put them in though, except Reggie Miller. I mean seriously, that was MJ’s generation.
Furthermore, you haven’t seen the last of this generation as it still has at least 5 more NBA drafts before the next one, and you’ve left out a lot of the best players.
For example(excluding rookies): Derrick Rose, OJ Mayo, Brandon Jennings, Tyreke Evans, Josh Smith, Al Horford, Monta Ellis(because of talent alone really), Aldridge, Bynum, Westbrook, Stefan Curry, Rudy Gay, Beasley, Kevin Love, Jeff Green, JR Smith, Bargnani, Marvin Williams, Wilson Chandler, Eric Gordon, Stuckey, Collison, Thornton, Gallinari, just to name a few.
Also, how could you leave off Mashburn. Come on man. Monster-Mash! I’d take him over Pierce any day.
Either way, this generation is better because its players are more complete, more unselfish(the best ones at least), and better earlier than the previous generation was. That generation was the hip-hop generation, and this generation is the team-first generation, and the winning is everything generation.
