I’m on top of the pile of gumballs
in the glass sphere machine.
I’m new in here and so fresh
I literally gleam.
I can see her with her money
and I am so well pleased.
I’d be jumpin up for her attention
if I had legs and knees.
She drops in the coin and I feel a rumble
then those below me get in a jumble
she gets a gumball but it ain’t me
I’ll probly get old and stale before I’m ever set free.
“Hey wait, maybe this is better” I’m sighin
as the kid walks away without her fave color, and cryin.
I can see her toss it in the trash bin
and suddenly I’m happy the position I’m in.
